Novella Review: The Demon in the Wood (Shadow and Bone Trilogy #0.1)

Y’all, I stumbled upon some GrishaVerse novellas/short stories yesterday so I’m gonna add these to my reviews!

The Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo

Synopsis:

Before he became the Darkling, he was just a lonely boy of extraordinary power. Get a look into the past that forged a brutal and brilliant leader.

~SPOILER ALERT~

A short story about Little Darkling. It’s so intersting because he was all “I want to make a better world for Grisha” and I guess The Fold kind of did that but he seemed so pure in this one. Interesting. I did kind of feel bad for him when Annika tried to kill him, especially because he thought they were friends. Now I see why Amplifiers are held with such high regard.

Interesting.

3 stars.
