Book Review: The Medical Examiner (Women’s Murder Club #16.5)

The Medical Examiner by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

32603493

Synopsis:

Two bodies arrived at the morgue. One was still breathing.

A woman checks into a hotel room and entertains a man who is not her husband. A shooter blows away the lover and wounds the millionairess, leaving her for dead. Is it the perfect case for the Women’s Murder Club – or just the most twisted?

~SPOILER ALERT~

This was an interesting novella, although not as good as the previous one.

It was interesting to see more of a focus on someone other than Lindsay and that part I did like.

The case I guess was still pretty interesting too. How often do you get a live person in a freezer at the morgue. However, Joan kind of annoyed me. She just seemed so fake and over dramatic.

Cindy is a freaking idiot for trespassing like that. She could have gotten killed.

I think going in to this I expected for the majority of the story to be about Claire (because of the title) and while she was very present, I feel like Richie was the main focus.

Oh well. I’m interested to see if Joan shows up in any of the future books though.

3 stars.
