Time to meet our second blogger in the Summer Spotlight Series!
Steffy from Little Booky Nook is super funny and such a great friend. There’s no one on this planet that I’d rather rant with on Twitter and I highly suggest that you follow her on instagram for good books and adorable pets.
Tell me a bit about yourself.
My name is Steff (or Steffy) and I’m from Brisbane, Australia. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a turtle, and one day I would love to have my own animal farm. I always carry a book with me regardless of the situation because you never know when you might have a spare few minutes to kill.
Tell me about your blog and why you started it.
I started my blog after I finished Empire of Storms (book 5 in the Throne of Glass series) because I had SO MANY EMOTIONS and no-one to talk to about it. I had been on twitter for a month or so by then and had seen someone talk about wordpress, so I joined up immediately and rambled about EoS hahaha. I think it only got 1 like because I didn’t have any followers but even so, it was awesome just being able to get it all out!! My blog name is what I would name my bookstore, because us book readers love our little reading nooks 🙂
Speaking of reading nooks. Do you have a favorite place to read in?
I actually really love reading on my couch because it’s really comfy. It’s one of those L shaped lounges, so I lie in the corner with my book…and my cats hehe.
Have you ever run into or seen problems within the blogging community?
I’ve seen quite a few issues in the blogging community, they tend to come and go in waves. I’ve seen people disagreeing over pirating books, to teens being ignored when talking about YA. Alot of the issues, I find, start from twitter and end up being blogged about because it’s easier to voice your opinion.
Has your experience been welcoming or have any of the issues mentioned caused a rift?
As a whole I absolutely love the blogging community. I have found it to be welcoming and supportive and a community I’m proud to be a part of. For me the issues that have come up haven’t caused a rift. If I disagree with something I will say it but I don’t do it just to fight. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree on certain things and then move on. I haven’t had to unfollow anyone for posting things that are against my values, so I’ve been pretty lucky in that regard 🙂
You’re a Sarah J Mass fan right? I haven’t read any of her work yet, but which do you like better: A Court of Thorns and Roses or Throne of Glass?
ToG without a doubt! The only book that I like in the ACOTAR series is the 2nd book….the other 2 are a bit “meh”. But ToG is just so freaking good and I absolutely love the characters, especially Aelin.
I will keep that in mind for when I read it! How are you feeling about ToG supposedly becoming a tv show?
Ehhhhh I am not enthusiastic about it, based on other book to tv adaptations. If they do it properly and spend money on it and stick to the book then it could be amazing. Outlander is a really good example of that. But if the writers decide to do their own thing, then it’s most likely going to suck.
Will you still watch the premiere?
Oh hells yes!! I will do whatever I can to watch it as soon as I possibly can 😀
Hahaha. I don’t blame you. I felt the same way about Shadowhunters (RIP)…. I think I’m out of questions for you. Thank you so much for doing this!
