Bookish Quotes #14

Welcome to Bookish Quotes where I share quotes from books, about books or by my favorite authors

“You should get to turn on the TV and see your tribe, your people, someone like you other there, existing.”

Year of Yes: How to Dance it Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes

I finally finished Year of Yes last week and this quote really stick out to me because it’s true. It’s ridiculous to me that some people still ‘don’t understand’ the importance of representation or even have the nerve to complain about it.

There are billions of people on this planet and all of them are different. It only make sense that we get to see all of those people wherever we look, not just in real life.
