The stigma around mental health

1 in 4 of us experience issues with mental health at some point during our life, anxiety and depression being the most common problems. Unfortunately mental health care across the globe is lacking, with only 46% of GPs in the UK receiving placement training that focuses specifically on mental health. This is one reason for the shockingly high number of those suffering with a mental heath problem; it appalls me that GPs do not receive adequate mental health training as after all, their job is to protect all aspects of our health, and I hope that the higher authorities will realize this and start to provide training for all GPs. However, at the other end of the spectrum, are those suffering from mental health problems who choose not to seek help, hence why they do not receive proper treatment and their mental health worsens.
