Novella Review: Glitches (The Lunar Chronicles #0.5)

Glitches by Marissa Meyer

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. In Glitches, a short prequel story to Cinder, we see the results of that illness play out, and the emotional toll that takes on Cinder. Something that may, or may not, be a glitch…

I’m definitely intrigued. This is a good prequel though and I liked getting a bit of Cinder’s back story.

I think I see where Cinderella is coming into play: Her stepfather might die. Her stepmother thinks she’s an abomination. There’s a ball coming up that Pearl is going to. etc.

I only have a few questions so far. Why did they erase her memory when they did her surgery? And… Prince Kai a cyborg? I’m only wondering because of the way that Cinder said his arms aren’t proportionate to his body.

Maybe that’s a long shot? I don’t know.

3 out of 5 stars. I think I have one more novella to read before Cinder. Stay tuned
