Welcome back to Bookish Quotes here at Bookmark Chronicles where every other Saturday I share a quote that is either from a book or about books! Feel free to share some of your favorites as well on your own blog or even in a guest post!
I meant to post a quote last week, but I had a busy weekend and it didn’t happen.
“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”
Our Dead Behind Us: Poems by Audre Lorde
I’m sharing this quote for a two reasons.
First because it’s Black History Month and if you follow me on Facebook and Twitter I’ve been posting a good amount around that topic.
Second because this is incredibly relevant to a lot happening in the world today, and the crazy divisions in the U.S. and around the world. I could go into details but I’m sur everyone knows what I’m talking about.
Do you have any favorite quotes by Audre Lorde or ones similar to this? Let me know!
I’ll share another quote on Saturday February 18th, until then let me know what some of your favorite bookish quotes are!
