I’m really sick of dealing with other’s people’s shit. I’ve tried to be nice and clearly that’s not working.
Multiple times I’ve had people write passive aggressive blog posts about me because they didn’t like something that I said or because they didn’t “understand” my post.
Instead of writing a post about the things that I actually said, they chose to twist my words or pick out one small thing, which taken out of context means something completely different from what my actual point was.
Well, I’m going to clear every thing up right now. Apparently, the only way for me to do that is to stoop to their level and also write a post about them…so be it.
For anyone who doesn’t know, I left the Coalition of the Brave. I got tired of dealing with assholes who start arguments with everything that I say simply for the sake of disagreeing with me. I got tired of the name calling that came when they could no longer support their bullshit argument. I got tired of people saying I needed to provide facts while refusing to look at the attachments and evidence that I had already given. I got tired of being labeled emotional or combative all because I didn’t find a so called joke funny, because someone didn’t understand feminism, or because of a conversation that I was even a part of.
First of all, if you are a white man you don’t get to tell me how to feel or respond to racism or sexism. Why? Because you don’t fucking know what it’s like. Period. I don’t give a fuck if you think you have all the answers. You don’t. What you really need to do is shut the fuck up and check your goddamn privilege. The fact that you don’t understand this concept is why we keep coming back to this same place.
Yes, I brought up privilege. Oh I bet that’ll piss some people off. Are you tired of hearing about it because you don’t actually think it exists. Of course you are….I wonder why that is? Yet, somehow you still don’t understand anything that minorities tell you if it doesn’t “directly apply to you” *hint hint* that’s privilege. But you still don’t get it, right? The reason isn’t because you can’t grasp the concept….it’s because you don’t want to.
It’s not okay to take something that’s a serious issue to me (one that you will never face) and try to make a joke out of it after I’ve told you that I don’t find it funny. Sure, you can make jokes but if I tell you that I don’t find it funny, get the fuck over it. You obviously don’t understand the situation or what it’s like to be in that position. That’s fine, but don’t dismiss my experiences just because you have nothing valid to offer to the conversation.
I’m all for discussions, even a good debate. However, there is a difference between explaining and discussing opposing views and harassing someone because you disagree with what they said. At the end of the day I don’t give a damn if you agree with me or not but 1. Don’t talk shit if you can’t back it up and 2. I don’t have to respect your racism or sexism.
If you don’t know what feminism is or what it’s about then educate yourself. Don’t start an argument with me just because you don’t like that word. I don’t care. And if you disagree with my feminism that basically tells me that you’re a shitty person because I believe in equality. So go ahead, call me a feminazi or social justice warrior (although I don’t see the issue with that) because I really don’t give a shit.
If you actually knew me, then you would know that I’m not the kind of person that “creates echo chambers” I am very capable of having great discussions and helping people understand certain situations by explaining to them what they can’t see. I’ve done this on multiple occasions. But “changing minds” doesn’t mean that I have to accept hateful, demeaning comments from people who don’t know a damn thing about me and like to troll people simply because they feel big and bad behind a screen name.
Your lack of maturity and inability to have a conversation isn’t my problem, so do not waste my time with your bullshit.
I’m sorry you went through this. It sounds like you made a wise decision in leaving. I realize this is probably a futile wish, but people need to have respect for each other and their views even if they don’t agree.

Thank you! I’m really glad that I left. Futlie? Perhaps, but I agree with you completely.
Also, I just realized that some of your comments were going to my spam folder but hopefully I’ve fixed it!

For the record, feminists are some of the most hated people on the planet!

I know that some people hate feminists but if we talk about what that means to me, what you stand for and find that it’s the same does the title really matter?

I really feel your frustration about people’s instant ignorant reactions to anything related to feminism. The same is true of anything related to the word “liberal.” Karl Rove and his henchmen did a masterful job of painting that word in a negative light. I’m sick of close-mindedness about basic human rights that should be respected and debated thoughtfully. I don’t know what the solution is, other than wishing that logical thinking, critical thought, and civics could be taught in schools much, much earlier than college. It wouldn’t cure the hateful, close-mindedness but might at least open our social discourse in a way that could possibly bring us together rather than constantly rip our society apart.

I agree, especially with being taught about these things sooner that college. That would actually help a lot of people understand the “real world” before they’re thrown out into it

I totally empathise. I don’t write about racism because I’m white so all I can do is listen and learn from people who experience it based on skin colour. I do write about feminism, and then … all the king’s horses and all the king’s (white) men, come riding in to correct me. Because. They. Know. Better. Take heart ❤️

Thank you! And you actually can write about racism. Yes, you’re white so you may not have experienced it but you’ve probably seen and are able to recognize it

Here is an old post where I wrote about my racism of years ago. Also, I look at the way white people victimise each other. but I hope that doesn’t take away from the experiences faced by black people with the innate racism whites are brought up with, both individually and systemically. However I am unhappy with the perception about blacks being racist towards whites, and women being racist towards men.I think those are mistaken uses of the words and the political theory.

I agree that minorities being racist towards white people is a strange perception. Especially if it’s described as “reverse racism” I feel that when you say that one way is backward, you think that the opposite is correct.
