Harry Potter Month: Day 8

Day 8: What’s your favorite lesson from the series?

I’m guessing this means like a takeaway of sorts.

In that case I guess it would be something about how anyone can be brave. For example, Neville. Scared, forgetful, clumsy Neville. That description is how he was at the beginning and then look at him at the end. By far the most character development. It’s great. And I do believe that anyone can be brave regardless of what their situation may be. They’ll discover their strengths when they need them most

I agree. Being brave feels like the best message – especially when you aren’t even sure you’ll win (like Neville; but even like Harry and Hermione in the last novel). Neville from the first book, standing up to his friends. Neville in the last book, killing the snake, knowing it would ensure his death (if Harry hadn’t not died – but he didn’t know that). Hermione and Harry trying to find the horcruxes, even when Ron abandoned them and they felt like they had no hope. Harry, who, after viewing Snape’s memories, went to the forest, believing he was walking to his death, and doing it regardless. Harry, then choosing life, when he could have had an afterlife with his family and Sirius, and returning to the battle to defeat Voldemort and save his friends. So much bravery.
