Hi, happy Monday!
In case anyone needs a reminder or is new to the Bookmark Chronicles, here are the rules: Every Monday I will post a This or That Challenge where we will choose between two characters or scenarios. On Friday we will see which scenario/character wins. Feel free to either comment your choice below or make your own post and link it back here!
By no means do you have to feel obligated to do every single challenge, but I would love to hear all of your opinions! If you can only really talk about one scenario then go for it. Also, if you have any suggestions please let me know!
This week I want to know…
Do you ever skip pages or read ahead?
I don’t anymore but when I was younger I would skip pages if the book was boring. I would just kind of skim it until t got interesting again.
Also, I had a really bad habit of getting to a really good part of a book and I would accidentally jump to the next page and read something important. Or I would check to see how many pages were left in a chapter and I would accidentally read the last line and spoil something. So then I would have to read to the end of the chapter knowing what was going to happen lol. I don’t do it anymore though, I’ve learned to not read pages even if I am just looking for page numbers.
What about you? Do you ever skip ahead? Let me know!

Not lately, no. Like you, if I would look ahead to see page numbers or what not, sometimes my eyes will automatically read a line. Then I’d get super mad if it spoils anything! Hahaha. I have learned to not wonder how many pages are left in a chapter. Unless it’s a textbook 😉

haha agreed! It’s totally acceptable with textbooks

No, I don’t usually skip ahead. Sometimes I’ll skim a book if it’s one I’ve read a few times before, but I don’t usually check how many pages or what the ending’s going to be like. I’m pretty fast at reading, so if the book has my attention and I have the free time, I usually finish pretty fast anyway.

Absolutely not! I don’t mind spoilers, but breaking up the flow of the story totally spoils the enjoyment for me.

I don’t skip whole pages, but weirdly I do skip some sentences sometimes. It’s a bad habit, but sometimes I just can’t stomach excessive description.
