Good morning!
In case anyone needs a reminder or is new to the Bookmark Chronicles, here are the rules: Every Monday I will post a This or That Challenge where we will choose between two characters or scenarios. On Friday we will see which scenario/character wins. Feel free to either comment your choice below or make your own post and link it back here!
By no means do you have to feel obligated to do every single challenge, but I would love to hear all of your opinions! If you can only really talk about one scenario then go for it. Also, if you have any suggestions please let me know!
I thought of this question early this morning so here it is…
Do you read graphic novels and/or comic books?
For clarification I mean, do you currently read them, like have you in the last year or so? And you don’t have to read both, if you read just one then that counts as a “yes”
So from my understanding (and correct me if I’m wrong) these two are pretty similar. If you do read them, do you prefer one over the other?
I do not read either. I read a few graphic novels when I was in middle school that a friend let me borrow. Other than that, I don’t really choose to. Not because I don’t think that they would be good but just because I never really got into them you know? So if you do read graphic novels and comic books, feel free to leave some suggestions below.
I read them. I have two children with learning disabilities, and graphic novels have been the saviour in my house! Both of them love to read, but a novel is just too intimidating. Once we discovered graphic novels, everything changed. I’ve read them just to see what was going on, and like anything, some are fabulous, and some aren’t. But I am a fan!

That’s so cool. I wish someone had suggested that before, I think it could help my little brother too! Thank you for that

YES! I love graphic novels. I got into them about a year ago and now I’ve read several and have a ton more on my TBR. My current favorite is Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. Not sure if that’s the best one to start with, though. I’d maybe start with some YA graphic novels first if you’re wanting to get into them! Anything by Raina Telgemeier.

I don’t really read either – I have before, but not for a really long time.

No, I don’t read them. I gravitate more towards novels and short stories. However, now that my son is getting older, he might be interested in them once he learns how to read on his own.

Same, I was never really exposed to them but I’m not sure if I would have enjoyed them. That’s a good idea for your son! that’s probably a really good way to get kids reading!
