The lovely Analee @ Book Snacks tagged me after I told her how fun I thought this looked. Thanks a million, I am so excited for this! 🙂
Rules:
- Randomly choose 3 books. (Use the ‘random’ option on your Goodreads read shelf. Thanks for that tip, it makes this so much easier)
- For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread. (A lot like Kiss, Marry, Kill.)
- Repeat until you completed three rounds (or five) 🙂
Okay, let’s do this!
Round 1:
Burn: Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult I have to say Plain Truth because the other two are parts of my favorite series. Can’t get rid of them.
Rewrite: The Ersatz Elevator by Lemony Snicket. Well I can’t rewrite HP so…yeah. If I remember correctly, this might be the one where Violet gets kidnapped.
Reread: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It’s HP and it’s on my reread TBR for this year 🙂
Round 2:
Burn: Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson. I did like Amy & Roger’s but out of these three its definitely not my favorite. And Amy is a little annoying.
Rewrite: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I enjoyed this book but I think that there were some parts that were a little boring during the Victory Tour. I wouldn’t rewrite much
Reread: Among the Betrayed by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I read the first book, Among the Hidden, when I was in 6th grade and when I realized it was a series, I had to read the rest of it they were really good
Round 3:
Burn: Jane Austen Ruined My Life by Beth Patillo. This is one of the worst books that I have ever read. The main character is an idiot. This book was such a waste of time that I would probably consider actually burning it. (Don’t worry, I donated it instead)
Rewrite: The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. I would love to rewrite the main character. The whole “I’m too weak to make own decisions so I let my boyfriend make them for me” thing doesn’t sit well with me
Reread: Night by Elie Wiesel. I wouldn’t actually reread it because its so sad, but it was a very good read.
Round 4: The Nicholas Sparks Round
(I didn’t plan this I swear)
Burn: Nights in Rodanthe. This was actually a pretty good book, but the other two are among my favorite of his.
Rewrite: A Walk to Remember. This was a very rare occasion where I actually thought the movie was better than the book. For that reason I would rewrite some of the scenes that were kind of unnecessary for the development of the story.
Reread: Safe Haven. I loved this book. There are so many little details in it that make it such a good story. Of course the movie left out the important stuff and it really just didn’t do it justice. To be honest, I think the movie sucked.
Round 5:
Burn: Romeo and Juliet bu Willian Shakespeare. Okay, I know this is a classic and all but…just no. This is actually like one of the worst love stories ever if you think about it…
Rewrite: The Pact by Jodi Picoult. I hated a lot of things in this book. Mostly the boyfriend, so I would rewrite him
Reread: Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi. I love Warner, I loved that she did this from his point of view, it was perfect.

Thanks for the tag! This is hilarious–what a clever book tag. “Rewrite” The Truth About Forever was my fave because, well, I’ve actually said, “The Truth About Forever” needed one more good edit. What a coincidence that three Nicholas Sparks books randomly popped up together on your randomizer list. Thanks for teaching me about yet a new feature on Goodreads. I’m going to have fun with that one, I think.

Thanks for the tag. This looks like a lot of fun! 😀
It’s going to be hard to burn books that I’ve read… unless I disliked them immensely!

You’re welcome! Yes only one of them I would actually think about burning because it was that bad

I loved the novel “Safe Haven”. I agree, I felt that the movie didn’t do it justice. I hated that he judged her and wasn’t originally a police officer in the movie.

exactly, and then all of the little details about getting in the husbands head just made it come together. They had no way of doing that in the movie

I know – it was so disappointing!!!
